I often say “high school goes so fast”. And

And it really does. More for the parents than the children, I think. (We aren’t doing the statistics homework or going to the Spanish tutor, so I imagine it’s much faster!)

Because when you think about it, there aren’t really that many dances.

There aren’t really that many proms.

You won’t really go out to dinner all dressed up with a big group of friends that many times.

So every single time is special.

National Daughters Day…did I miss it?

She’s pretty much grown up now.

Sumner.

She’s my only daughter and the eldest of my 5 children.

She’s sure about who she is, and learning who she isn’t.

She’s confident and strong.

She doesn’t really like ice cream but if she had to choose, she’d eat the strawberries & Oreo mash up from our local custard place.

She hated ballet class as a child but loved musicals. OG Mary Poppins was her jam.

My daughter doesn’t share well (only girl, hands off her stuff), but would give anyone in need everything she has.

I’m awfully proud of her, this young woman of mine.
